In many places it is impossible, or not desirable to use physical cabling for a local area network. A radio link could be used to connect places that would otherwise be very costly to connect.
Radio is something I have worked with for a long time, both as radio amateur and with wireless networks. I could:
- Assess your requirements and find other, related reference installations
- Advice on equipment (antennas, cabling, etc.)
- Advice on future expansion
- Advice on security (eavesdropping, as well as electrical and weather protection)
- Help with net- and capacity planning
- Advice on alternative routes of connection
There could be lots of things transmitted on a wireless network
- Data for mobile workstations
- IP Telephony (VoIP)
- The Internet
- E1, T1, ATM, Frame Relay, Ethernet...
- Data to and from mobile platforms, like fork lifts, autonomous vehicles, trains and airplanes
- Data to and from stationary platforms, like road signs, traffic lights, surveillance cameras and various machinery
