The Lithuanian Society in Sweden stages regular meetings at the embassy every second month (January, March, May, July, September and November), the second Friday of the month at 5.30 p.m. The address is: Strandvägen 53, Stockholm. Everyone is welcome.

| June 2, 2000 all Lithuanians had a happy party on the Lithuania ferry “Palanga” that was docked at Stockholm harbour this evening. | ||

Two guests were celebrated and had champagne and chocolate for presents: Vilmantas and his wife Jolanta had sweets and mineral water. |

All the others did their outmost to have a good party: Jörgen and Audrone celebrated their wedding anniversary. |
| The poet Tomas Venclova visited the Lithuanian Society in Sweden and told about his work and life in the Soviet Union and in the U.S., and read his poetry. Loreta Burnyte and Anna Harrison are in the process of translating Venclova's poetry into Swedish. |
| During the General assembly, the youngsters worked in the kitchen. Ausrius, Ramune, Vaida, Andrius, Alma and the others were busy waving knives, ladles and rolling pins. | ||
| When the General assembly, after long speeches, discussions and elections, was finally finished, a small concert commenced. All the mothers danced the "Kepurine" (hat dance) lead by Zita Papinigiene, and Ausrine played the piano. But the concert wasn't over yet... | ||

| ...and all the kids danced the "Jurgelis meistrelis", "Aguonele", and "Du gaideliai" together with the teachers Aldona Sehgal, Lilija Bakanauskaite and the mothers. | ||
| After the concert, the party began. Lots of people wanted to chat with Klemensas Gumauskas, who had now finished his period as chairman of the LSS (to the left). No one forgot to taste the lovely food. Best of all were the sausages with cabbage. |
