Technical translation, software translation, computer graphics, local area networks, wireless networks, electromagnetic interference...

I translate from English, Danish and Norwegian into Swedish, and from Swedish to English. I have a mainly technical direction and the manuals and translations I work with usually deal with software systems, hardware and electronic measuring instruments, but I have dealt with fiction and art books as well. My language demands are strict, and my customers appreciate text that rise above everyday, sloppy language.

My experience reaches far outside the sphere of translations and text management. I have been working with electronic design, microcomputer design, advanced electronic measurements, radio, antenna construction, fine mechanics, optical character recognition, phototypesetting and local area networks for many years. Furthermore, I have written several books on subjects like Internet, Novell NetWare and MS-DOS. The NetWare books are so popular that they even sell in Denmark, and have been translated into Danish.

I have always been eager to get into the latest technology. A new method, or technology is rarely any problem. A new computer application, a new Internet system, perhaps a fax management system or a talking modem? A military jet fighter?

Company History

I founded the company in 1990, first as a Sole trading company, and later changed it into a Limited company, mostly because I wanted to make money for myself, and not for someone else. Unappreciative managers knowing everything better than myself, was another reason.

A great advantage with working at home is that I can decide my own working hours, and doesn't have to get up early and be jolted around in the bus every morning. I sometimes say I jog to work. I takes 4 seconds.

Another advantage is that I can do what I like to do, take those commissions I would rather have, and leave those that seems to horrible, or pay to little. I can also take on jobs that I don't really know if I can manage, and then work in my own way and make it all right in the end anyway.

Why is the company called Qomputor Education Datasystems? Well, the acronym is QED (Quod Erat Demonstrandum) which ends most lectures in schoolbooks in higher technical education. I thought people would get some connection to education, courses, training and such when they heard the name. I don't know if it works...

Then, why don't I change the name of the company? I like the letter Q.
