EMI: Electromagnetic Interference

I have a background as electronics- and microcomputer designer and have spent an extensive amount of time dealing with Electromagnetic Interference, or EMI.

For an electronic installation (a machine, a network, a computer, or a radio installation) to work properly in the field, it is necessary for it to be able to cope with electromagnetic interference, and not to generate any noise itself. In this area I am able to:

  • Lokalise sources and victims of interference
  • Help with interference suppression
  • Achieve EMC (electromagnetic compatibility)
  • Countering Remote Surveillance (possibilities for electronic eavesdropping)
  • Educate designers about EMI

The weather, and other natural phenomena may cause damage to radio installations and wireless LANs. If you have problems, I could:

  • Investigate cabling, feeder lines and antennas
  • Acquire components for interference elimination
  • Help with improvements
  • Help with future planning
